Climate Progress

December 1, 2010

One of the greatest failings of the climate science community (and the media) is not spelling out as clearly as possible the risks we face on our current emissions path, as well as the plausible worst-case scenario, which includes massive ecosystem collapse.

Risks are probabilities and hard to picture, but more, the scenarios to be considered are only the environmental ones. The collapse of democracy, the rise of a sel destructive monopoly world economy, plague, starvation through food failure independent of climate are at least worth recognizing as on the minds of many. Reducing the consciousness spectrum to a single line is not smart.
